John my computer is so old and slow it won,t support XP.
If it will support Win 2000 (which MS doesn't support anymore!), it should support XP. My guess is it's time for a new 'puter. You should be able to save a lot of the pieces of your current machine to put into a new one thus keeping the cost down.
You should be able to greatly speed up your current system for a couple hundred bucks at most. I know it's hard letting go. :-)

Did you actually try to install it? Just because it's not supported, doesn't mean it's the end of the world.
Sounds like it's probably too slow to support sketchup which requires a powerful video driver - if you do lash out and upgrade make sure you get a nvidia video driver.

I have another mother board my mom gave me just need to get a tower for it. Her boyfriend threw the one that came with it away after taking it apart when they got a new one it's a P2 processor which is way faster than mine. I have a P1 466Mhz so right now I'm just waiting to get caught up on bills so I can start building me a new one. I've got enough parts to build one really decent puter and a slow one
Xp won't work on that.
I still have a machine with logic running on 98 i fixed all the drivers for. I love it too, but my noO machine is XP for graphics sake.
XP wont work on what Paul?
According to Microsoft's published Windows XP Professional System Requirements, Windows XP will run on Pentium I and Pentium II machines.
However, I wouldn't recommend it.
If you want to run Windows on those boxes, I would suggest Windows 2000 Professional. It's pretty stable and not nearly the resource hog that Windows XP is. I'm running Windows 2000 Professional on two machines at home (a 600 MHz laptop and a 400 MHz tower, both Celerons). The machine I use most of the time is a work-issued 1.8 GHz laptop that runs Windows XP Professional (was on Windows 2000 Pro for a long time).
In any case, fill up on RAM to the maximum the machine(s) will take.
can someone tell me what versions of excel and MSOffice work on MS millinium edition?
Stay away from Windows Millenium like the plague!
--Keith, former Windows Millenium Edition victimIn 2000, Microsoft introduced Windows Me (Millennium Edition), which upgraded Windows 98 with enhanced multimedia and Internet features. It also introduced the first version of System Restore, which allowed users to revert their system state to a previous good point in the case of system failure. System Restore was a notable feature that made its way into Windows XP. Windows Me was conceived as a quick one-year project that served as a stopgap release between Windows 98 and the upcoming Windows XP due to the cancellation of the home consumer edition of Windows 2000. As a result, Windows Me was not acknowledged as a unique OS along the lines of 95 or 98. Windows Me was also widely criticised for serious stability issues and for lacking real mode DOS support.
