Hello all, Another newbie. We are looking at building a studio in a container largely as we have no room in our building. Woudl appreciate any thoughts from all and any feedback from anyone who may have done this already. I had one post from 2003 asking the same question, but haven't seen anythign since. Thanking you in advance!
What are your isolation requirements? What's in the area around where the container will be? Do you have any photographs of the conainer, or a similar one?
This is a shipping container - basiscally a metal structure with strong metal frame that allows it to be a self supporting structure. It is a basic retangular structure. I am a metric preson, so the dimensions are: length 6meters width 2.4meters height 2.6 meters We are going to be in a back yard with a generator close by. Occasional aircraft (the noisiest being the blackhawks that float around and keep an eye on things). The main constraint we have is limitation on specialist products and skilled people - given where we are. Generally, if we need somethign specific, it will be very expensive and will have to be brought in from Dubai.
I will be very intersted in how this project takes shape -- seems very interesting!
That's pretty cool John. Hope there's never a fire in there, but other than seems like a perfect little setup. What sort of isolation did you achieve from the outside?
You freakin' genius.
