Hello, I am currently opening a 2nd music lesson studio and at this new location, I would like to have a room designed as a music classroom for Kindermusic classes, etc. I would also like to be able to utilize the classroom as a recording studio. The studio/classroom should be roughly 20ft x 15ft. As for a control room, I would like something roughly 12ft x 10ft. As many have stated, having a separate entrance to both the control room and studio/classroom is ideal, given I dont need little kids walking through my control room. Also, a visual line of site into the studio from the control room is preferred. I have been staring at a piece of paper for hours trying to figure a good working design. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks, Jordy Anderson
Um could you give us some details on the space your wanting to use in picture form. A general layout of what the room look like right now include things like where door and window placements are. Dimensions needed are length, width, and height of space available as well as door sizes and window sizes if some are alread installed in anywalls
I apologize fot the lack of information in my original post. The site has not been constructed as of yet, so I was looking for a studio plan to use when we start construction. The location is a retail strip mall. Right now, the space we are looking at leasing is completely empty and unfinished. I can place the studio anywhere and pretty much make it any size I want...but I am trying to stay around 400 sf total for the studio and control room. After reading the other posts, FAQs, etc...I will submit a drawing of what I have to work with and what I am looking for. My partners and I are still deciding how to design the rest of the store, so when that is complete, I think I can provide the information you need. thanks, Jordy A.
Thanks Jody. The gemeral consensus is that it a control room minumim size is about 1500 cu. ft. That is a minimum! The information coming from you will help us provide direction. Andre
