Hi, I'm currently in the process of finishing up a business plan, as I'm looking to open up a recording facility.
I just wanted to know if anybody on here knew what costs were for studio design complete with construction cost.
Right now I'm looking at spaces that range from about 600sf to 1,500sf.
Some spaces are already built out, I would just need to fine tune it.
If you've had a space done, please feel free to either post it, or if you don't want to put out your business, PM me or email me at emiliomartinezjr@gmail.
Hope to hear from some of you guys soon.

Without knowing the degree of sound isoaltion required or the esthetics desired, anything you receive will be ballpark. For starters, try 150 - 200 dollars per square foot. Add on to that special interior work.

I'd figuer about $150 USD/sq ft is reasonable. maybe a touch more.
Like avar said. :)
Then the pretty stuff. Cherry wood in the Live room. (My next studio :) )
Okay here's the thing. The space is already built, I just have to make it pretty i.e. adding some hardwood floors, bass traps, etc. At this point it's all about looks. The room sounds great.
But how much would it cost to renovate it? Is it still $150/sf?

Ideas please. You mentioned floors. any other things to pretty???
Floors, epending upon materials can run 5-15/ sq ft for normal stuff get exotic and the price jumps. :)
I Prefer Maple Floors myself at $10/00 sqft
Does this room not have natural bass traps built into the construction of the room??? If it is built right you dont need to add bass traps.
You must must must heed John's warning about image widths.
