Hi all, Gosh, this is a great site. We are planning to build a new studio from the ground up. We have talked about a steel building anywhere from 60' x 120' down to 50' x 60'. The height anywhere from 16' to 20', depending on the room size( I think). We need 1- control room 5.1 (Would 5.1 be needed if we have a seperate 5.1 mix room?) 1- Voice booth 1- Live room 1- Drum room 1- Mix room 5.1 1- Kitchen 1- Lounge 1 - bathroom with double showers 2 - bedrooms 1 - Office All rooms will have double doors, sounds locks, double wall construction if needed. We are looking for land, approx. 5 acres in our area and would require good sound proofing so not to disturb neighbors. Would like to know what designs you experenced builders would use. I have kicked around many different designs and feel I don't have the knowledge needed. I have read all the per post reading materials suggested in other posts here. Thanks
Check out my thread and youll see where I started at and where I'm at right now and the is straight design. I want to have a studio in the future but figured I would get a design down for when I'm ready to build. Maybe this will help get your creative juices flowing juices flowing. Oh BTW the original concept was to design in space for a studio in the basement of a house I have been designing also but I think now the studio will be a stand alone building.
