I read in this link: "Plate glass is simply a solid piece of glass. This type of glass typically has the worst performance in terms of sound isolation." "the best glass performer, in terms of sound isolation, tends to be laminated glass. " Two solid pieces has worst performance than two laminated glass? Sorry If this question is done before. Please, add the link where is explained.
I agree with the Auralex link; for a better idea of why laminated glass is better than plain glass, read any of Brian's explanations on Green Glue (at RO and Studiotips) and Constrained Layer Damping - the material between sheets of glass (the laminating material) will damp the glass in the same way. That is why laminated glass outperforms plate glass of the same thickness... Steve
