In that I record only voice overs yet add music and effects to create commercials, I've been searching for plans for a studio that would allow me to both record and mix in the same room; where I can do the voice and engineer at the same time.. What I've found is that the design of a decent voice over booth differs from control room layout. I have a room that I plan on setting up. It's 11'6" x 9'3" and 7'6" in height. Three of the walls are concrete, the forth, a 9'3" wall, is to be built (currently it's a garage door). I'm just wondering if someone has set up a studio that serves dual purposes - voice over and control room - in the ball park of the dimensions I'm working with. Thanks

Hi Steve - check this studio out.
Hello Testing
Paul, who owned the studio, made commercials in this room and has won awards world wide. He used to record all the voices in the room with headphones.
hope this helps
cheers

Thanks John. It looks great. Any idea how wide the port is behind the compression ceiling, or how wide one should be? And is rigid fiberglass used in the port?
