i work at a studio where we will be moving soon to a new location, joining forces with another half of our company located in another facility. there is basically a large open warehouse type space where we will be building a new large audio booth and medium sized control room, as well as 3 avid edit suites and a master control machine room. it is basically what we have in our facility now, we're just uprooting it all and miving to a new building... the room i am sitting in right now was built originally with the intention of 5.1 mixing, but during the last stages of the design phase, the 5.1 elements were stripped out and the design of the room was built for mostly stereo work with 5.1 on the back burner. after lots of research i learned quickly that surround mixing wound be a bit rough in this room, so i really want to design this new one right for surround mixing from the get-go. this will be all on me to get it right - no budget for hired professional consultants or anything. the architect involved has experience in building studios and edit suits, but it's not their main business. i had direct involvement with the construction of this room, but i was assisting another engineer who moved on and i took over his position half way thru construction. i've collected a lot of sites with info on acoustics, speaker placement, etc, but was wondering if anyone could point me to some plans that some of you may have posted on this site so i can get some layout ideas? any tips in general on surround studio contruction would be greatly appreciated!

Is this http://www.grammy.com/pe_wing/5_1_Rec.pdf among the links you've already seen? has some general room guidelines... Steve
actually i just printed the whole thing out yesterday so i could take it out of town with me for some "lite reading" i did a rough sketch of the design i had in mind and just was wondering if there were any other successful designs from users here that i might view to see if i am far off. since it is a scaled hand drawing, maybe i can scan it in and see if anyone has and input? i'll try to post it when i get back.
