Is there such a thing a freeware type CAD software that is easy to use and can help me design my rooms at my new studio? Thanks in advance for any help in this area and I look forward to a long and happy relationship with you all on this forum.

"Easy to use" is incredibly vague without knowing your background in softare and drafting. Smartdraw has a 30 trial demo and Deltacad has a 45 day demo. there may be others.

I'm a big fan of using cad for production, but when designing i reach for the fat pencil or sharpie, and trace paper.
