This is the plan for the outside wall of my room: **See Attachment** inside this shell there will be a floating studio with Soudbloc-MDF walls that touches the outside shell through roughly thirty of these:

so the room will look like:

any input on what you guys think i should do with the walls. I'm at the part just before i Gun O Prene the Joists to the Plaster for the resiliant rails and the Soundbloc. Have i messed it up or am i on the right track?

Hi Pantalaimon, Welcome to the Construction forum. I see you posted more information (and lots of cool pictures) over in the Studio Design forum, which you intended to post here. Perhaps one of the moderators can move that thread over here for you. Please take a moment to read and follow all of the instructions in the"Before you Post" announcement. Doing this will help the experts here help you help yourself. Note that there has already been discussion here about Soundbloc being a waste of money, so you may want to reconsider that part of your plan. Please take care of that "Before You Post" stuff, after which I'm sure the "real" experts (which excludes me ;) ) will be able to offer more meaningful insights.
Hi! i was reading loads of posts before hand, this is where i basically designed my whole studio from! So far on the forum i have learned: 1. The importance of a hermetically sealed cavity and room. 2. The advantages of two COM system. 3. How Resiliant Railing Works. 4. What materials to use. etc etc etc.... really helpful, thank you. it's kinda comforting to know that you are talking to experts you know? I've added a little to my previous Wall Sketchup below. oh and thanks for the tip with the Soundbloc!!! but i think that i'm on the right track now. If anyone has a similar setup as in the Sketchup file below, could you tell me if i'd be getting a TL of 50 dB or Greater. thanks everyone.

Or, people like me who hang out with the experts and speak authoritatvely about some things so that some might think I am an expert, in spite of my numerous clarifications to the contrary! ;-)
. . . If anyone has a similar setup as in the Sketchup file below . . .
Bear in mind that some of the folks here (myself included) do not have Sketchup, so it is usually a good idea to post a JPG as well. Otherwise, we're discussing what we cannot see.

At what frequency? Remember, low end TL is hard to achieve, but at least you don't need a whole lot of it. Think of a relatively low hill that is very steep: it's harder to climb than a taller hill that is more shallow. I'm not the calculation guy... But the more info you provide, the quicker you'll be able to get "real" expert answers... Not fake, made-up crap that I like to spout off. ;-)
yeah, TL is frequency dependent. but isn't there some sort of weighted average of all the freqquencies? STC or something. I guess I wouls want a TL of about 65dB in fact cos 25dB is the acceptable noise threshold as far as i'm aware so this would allow ma 90dB averaged and weighted over all the frequencies. i won't be allowed 90dB of 41Hz off a Bass Guitar, don't worry i havn't gone down that line of thinking! and on those .jpg files, what i'm gonna do is take a look at the walls from different angles:

thanks for the input though. for those of you who don't have this program, i'd really advise purchasing a copy.

Quoting Knightfly: ". . . pay more attention to TL at 50 hZ than you do STC - if you design for the lows, the rest will be no problem." (Source) Man, some of those images got really munged.
yeah i know, this is what i was afraid of. thanks anyway!
