How important is it that the ceiling in a control room slope up behind the mix position? If the slope is gentle and I use thick clouds above the mix position will it be a huge problem if the ceiling slopes down behind me?
not if it's gentle Mike - make you clouds slope up the position directly above the mix position then allow it slope back behind you. like this cheers john

So John, in your drawing the speakers would be on the left side facing the right. Should I be very cooncerned about the relections coming off the cieling behind the cloud?
Yes - speaker on the left - the reflections off the rear ceiling are not going to affect the listening position and they will get soaked up in the rear wall treatment. Its the ones in the front you need to worry about hence the clouds. On the other hand if you reverse it and put the speakers on the right side you correct the problem. cheers john

Yeah, but the view is off to the left! Thanks for the help!
