hello all !
i am here proud to announce that me and friends are going to start building a big recording studio in the centre of France.
You have a posted picture of the place, the studio will be in the big barn on the right, the power line will be buried
One of the things which puzzles me is the shape of the live room.
As you can see on the poorly made sketches the roof is a two slopes one and the live room is supposed to be on the left side of the barn, from ground to roof.
The control room will have an internal roof because on top of it there will be an editing room and various other rooms.
How do i calculate room modes, reverberation and so on for such a live room ?
Thanks for help
Philippe
live room shape

For mode calculation, just take the average height of the ceiling, and consider it a rectangular room....close enough, without going to the trouble of buying boundary element software to do room analysis.
There are a number of calculator spreadsheets out there (search this site) for doing modes. Reverb time will be a function of what wall treatment and construction you use....there are calculators for that too.
Cheers,
