I've been to a few studios that had a recording area for bands and they also recorded vocals in there.
Do I need a isolation booth?

How are we supposed to answer this? We don't even know where you are, what type music (style) what type music (instruments)... AndreI've been to a few studios that had a recording area for bands and they also recorded vocals in there.
I make Hip Hop/R&B music for the most part but I use live instruments alot. Most of the time the different players are not in the studio at the same time. Example.. I make a beat add some parts to it. think I need a live bass, bring one in he/she does their thang, I add some more parts then I might need a sax , I do this untill I feel my track is finished. That's how I work sometimes. In my new spot I want to have the ability to do a whole band at the same time. So I guess I may need a iso booth. I'm also thinking of trying to do some radio commericials. Take advantage of my Marketing degree.
Its your decision and market. With what you have written, I would go with one big room.
That way I can:
Get a big group of musicians at onc: and
Get a bigger natuaral ambience sound for single tracks.
For much live isolation I waould use gobos and some wired cable runs into adjacent louneges/offices etc.
Andre
Thanks for you response.
