Should I keep it one room or try to add an ISO booth?

I have a 14'x17'x12' cathedral ceiling room. I plan to float the floor and walls and maybe remove the fireplace in the corner. Should I try to fit an ISO booth in here? I do need to record vocals and some electric guitars. I'd record ac. guitar in the CR for more space. Drums will be sequenced. Any suggestions on room arrangement/layout would be appreciated. I've included som pics of the room as well.

I would keep it one rrom. It has a lovely tone (visual) to it. Teh firpalce gives a gret atmosphere too. Why do you want tot float htings? What isoaltion do need? Floating can and will make things worse if not done (designed) properly. Andre
Hi Andre - Actually, the pictures were taken before I put up QuietRock 530 drywall. It doesn't look as nice now :( I was looking to isolate the sound from my son's room (which is sharing the west wall). The other walls are fine, as they open to the back yard. Other than floating the floors/walls, what's the best method for isolation? Loading up mass on the walls?

Sory, I can not a give a happy answer to your question. You have already spent a ton of money on some very expensive material. Hows about some pictures of teh current room so that we can see what we are working with? :) Andre
If you must see the pics. . .hopefully my room can be saved. I think I have a 3 leaf situation now with my son's wall.

Sound isoaltion, which you are now getting into is is a detailed mater to do properly Do or do you not have a triple leaf situation? Without details on the room construction we (the people on the forum) can not give any usefull info. As far as layut goes, as another suggestion to yours shown, put the sopeakers on the south wall. This gives you symmetry ont he stereo axis. Goign width wise on 14 feet isn't really that bad. For ideas of what to post on details, read this http://www.johnlsayers.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3231 Andre
I currently have a 2 leaf setup, with my inner studio walls containig two layers of material (drywall and QuietRock530). The walls are 2x4 studs with insulation and then the oustide wall stucco. One wall (east side) is adjacent to my son's closet and has one layer of drywall. Does this count as a 3 leaf situation with the closet door? I've attached a picture of the closet setup. I'll try to add some drawings as well. My studio foundation is concrete with rock/slate tile glued directly on top. It was an add on to the house 10 years ago.
