Hi guys .. I'm building a medium sized studio. It will be built on a concrete slab and consist of just two rooms (a recording space and a mixing room). What are the thoughts on how I should treat the floors? .. I guess there's two schools of thought, wood or carpet. I wish to be able to record with basic isolation between players. Sound insulation is not the issue, it's my the quality of the sound. So I guess theres 3 things I would be looking at. 1 > All Carpet 2 > All wood 3 > Carpet recording space / Wood mixing room The walls are double brick and I'm looking to put plasterboard on top and put some aurelex kits the treat reflections (www.aurelex.com). And the ceiling is just a dropped ceiling with standard "acoustic" panels. Thanks guys, would like to hear the schools of thought on this. Cheers, Brett
Its not an alacarte meal. You have to llok at all treatments as a whole. Within the data you have given (not even dimension), wood. Carpet has no low frequency absorption, and you have to address that in other surfaces. Andre
