Control room dimensions and setup?

I've got a 13'x17' blocked out for my control room in my basement studio plans. On the long wall I've got two escape windows. So my question is would I be better off aiming my speakers the short way, allowing me to angle the side and front walls and face the tracking rooms? Or, should I go with a basically rectangular shape and aim my monitors the long way in the room? It's the space to the far right in the drawing. Thanks, Brien
