hi, i have a 12x10x8 basement room (drywall and concrete floor). I'm gonna make some 703 bass traps and absorbers etc..but my question was for the floor, should i put down carpet?(if not, what flooring?) the room will be used for mixing out my hip hop beats (all pc synth based)and recording some vocals and acoustic guitar.... thanks!
carpet?

hi, personaly I would remove the carpet and put in a nice wooden floor or laminate. the carpet will suck a lot of high frequencies out of the room, but they are not really your problem.
Some nice mineralwool-clouds will give decent absorbtion (in addition to corner traps)
If you really want something on the floor you can put area rugs where needed.
Be careful of possible flooding though!
I lost a wooden floor in a basement to a once in 24 year flood.
