Hey Guys,
I've been reading up on what I can from this site, homerecording.com, and the SAE site. I posted a thread on here earlier called "Control Room Layout. Please Help!" In that thread I posted a picture of my control room's layout and asked for advice on how to set it up. Well, no one helped. Only one person replied, and he just said to read the SAE site.
Well I read up on that site, but now I'm more confused than ever. The one picture he had on that site of a control room in a bedroom didn't have any corner bass traps or any reflector behind the mixing desk. I've read at other times that you should ALWAYS have bass traps in the corner if you can. I realize that everyone's situation is different, and that's why I put a drawing of my room in my thread. I'm getting to the point now to where I don't even know where to start because I'm getting mixed information.
My room is basically the same as the bedroom on the SAE site, except my window is along the short wall instead of the long wall. My earlier thread is still up. If anyone could help clear up some of this I would greatly appreciate it.
Here's that thread:

Since I am the that tried to help before, I wil continue with my attempts,
You asked fro advice in a gneral way for something that has asked many times here, with the specific layout of your room. Good move including the layiut. The SAE site was written by a profesional studio designer (John L. Sayers, the man behind this site). If you have questions about specific points, then provide deirection people to foolow with out having to search to even start with understanding what you are referrign to . A link for the people here tot he SAE page the drawing AND a link to explain your reason for writing "didn't have any corner bass traps or any reflector behind the mixing desk". In a short sentence, those things are either innappropriate in such sized rooms and/or designed into othere components of the rooms acoustics. A response int he same tone as you rposts would be "why should it?" Teh ball is in your court AndreThe one picture he had on that site of a control room in a bedroom didn't have any corner bass traps or any reflector behind the mixing desk
Ok, fair enough. But I read through that entire SAE site, and the only thing that I could somewhat relate to (I'm not going to be building a control room from scratch) is that one little drawing of the bedroom.
see this link, at the bottom of the page:

But it doesn't go into how to arrange the slot resonators, or even how effective this treatment is. (In other words, is it even worth the trouble?)
Besides this fact, my room is a little bit different from this picture, so I wanted to get some educated input. And if this isn't the place to post that question, I don't know where is. (The title of the forum, "Studio Design," even says "Plans and things, layout, style, where do I put my near-fields etc." These are all EXACTLY the questions that I'm asking. So I don't understand how my question was misplaced. I'm not trying to be rude or short or anything. If you can tell me how to phrase my question in a way that will get responses, please let me know. Because at this point I'm getting very frustrated, and I don't even know where to begin.
