OK, for my little bedroom studio under construction (pics and plans on the studios under construction area), I have a sloping ceiling that goes from 8 feet high to 13.5 feet high. The room is about 10x16.5 feet.
I'm planning on putting ceiling hangers above a bank of 703 clouds to make the ceiling go away acoustically as much as possible.
I noticed the hangers on the SAE site alternated directions, left to right for one bank, then front to back, then left to right, if I read it properly.
Does it matter significantly for my tiny room if I just put a group of hangers up there 8" apart all in a row, or if I alternate directions as on the SAE site? I think it would be a bit easier for me to build if they were all in a row, but if it makes an acoustical difference, I'll stagger them.
Thanks!

Hung up about ceiling hangers...

Lee - I believe that in a ceiling area they should alternate provided they are aligning with opposing walls like in the ceiling at left bank. In your case the ceiling is sloping upwards from zero and getting bigger so I'd keep them in the same plane (non alternating) with the panels getting larger as it gets deeper.

Hello John,
I am trying to figure out what you exactly mean when you say:
"they should alternate provided they are aligning with opposing walls ".
But I don't really untherstand what you mean by that. I can't figure it out when looking at the Left Bank pictures either.
Could you tell me in some more detail what you mean by this?
Thanks a lot.

Herwert - the way I look at is there are usually two parallel walls in a ceiling so I hang hangers both ways to cover each one. I usually divide the distance and hang a hanger in the middle - then I divide that and put hangers in the half point - then if there is room divide again - as you can see I'm putting hangers at the 1/2 , 1/4, 1/8 wavelengths in each direction.
Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot!!
