New here, but as my plans develop, might be returning frequently! This is a great resource for the home audio engineer. I'm looking at moving into my basement both to get a larger studio room and to accomodate plans for the upstairs of our house. (EDIT: Should have mentioned that I only need a control room.... I only do mixing and mastering in my studio. Tracking is done elsewhere.) I'd like this basement room to be both as large as possible and to be easily repurposed if we sell the house. Therefore, I'm picturing a very large, rectangular room with parallel walls. Could be a studio, could be an office. Is it safe to assume that I can defeat the standing waves in this room by using rolling, floor-to-ceiling baffles coated with either a diffusing or absorbing surface (as is needed)? Thanks!
Hi welcome to the forum - I'd build a proper control room and call it a home theater - much better resale possibilities for a home theater than just an office. :) cheers john
