Hi!
Don`t you think it would be easier for anybody to answer you, if you would add some information? Your own design approach, first ideas, important things to consider, etc... ??
John and all the other pros on this board aren`t holy studio design machines, are they?

Schroeder
your point is well taken. please accept my apology.
I'm hoping to create a recording / mixing room with attached vocal booth. live recording will consist of some acoustic instruments and vocals as well as midi instrumentation.
The room is rectangular in shape. Are there advatages or disadvantages to consider when choosing which direction to establish front to back. I could use some experienced minds in acoustics and efficent work
space.
Thanks, noise
Noise - the best length dimension for a control room is the 15' length so I'd setup a control room with the speakers on the right wall firing down the 15' length - it means the vox booth is at your rear but having the speakers at the other end becomes a problem because of the door.

John thanks for info. I am also considering costructing interior walls and ceiling to create a better acoustical space. I would be interested in your thoughts in regards to this.
Much thanks ,
Noise
What is tha blacked out area in your drawing??
cheers
john
The black area is a possible window.
Ok - well why not make it a double glass door and the entrance to the control room from the vox booth.
Then you can block off the existing door and face the control room to the booth.

I like the idea. What type glass door would work best?
