new mix room: mix-POS suggestions?

greetings, all... moving into a new house in about a month. i'll be converting the upstairs 'gameroom' into my new (and improved) mix room. the room is 18'8"x17' with 8' ceilings and built in shelves covering most of one of the 17' walls. my desk is pretty small(4x2)- only supporting a pair of 17" computer monitors. my nearfields are mackie hr824's which will be supported on 36" stands (with the 'fill with sand' option) SO--- i need suggestions on a good starting point for my monitor/mix position-- and possibly thoughts on positioning a sub... i apologize in advance if the info i seek is already in plain sight here somewhere-- (i'm in the middle of packing, chaos, etc...) Derek - a plan would help - where are the windows?? where are the doors etc?? how does the ceiling work and what height?? we need to know all these things before we can comment. cheers john
