I've enjoyed reading some great post here, however I haven't come across any single sticky or post which covered the absolute basic principles of recording studio design. If such a thread exists please point me to it... If it doesn't exist, I guess I'll start one off with a few I've learned here: - It is preferable to avoid having the control room's sole entrance through a tracking room. - In order to aid in stereo mixing, the control room should be roughly symmetrical. - Avoid parallel walls. (I don't know what the minimum angular offset would be...) Please add to this list of basic principles, guidelines and tips.

There is no single set of priniciples because everyone has unique needs/wants. Read the recording manual for starts. There are DOZENS of books written about this. Copmare this to a guitar. You can: buy one, make one from a kit with prefinished parts, make one from a kit with rough parts, buy the body rough and strings bridges etc, or you can make every part yourself to your plans. Studios are the same. Here we talk mostly about last type. :o
Thanks Vspace Boy. I missed that completely in my post. Remembering; Andre
