hello everyone! i may post about a known subject but i did'nt read all the site! if i design a studio and i want to make a double door system with each door attached to each wall, how do i fill the gaps between the doors? In other words what will be the good way to block sound from coming or going into the space between the two walls. i assume that there will be no solid junction between the two walls so how do you achieve that ? Thank you Philippe, Paris, France

Greetings, Philippe! Please take a moment to review this important introductory announcement, as there are some things you'll need to do before your questions can be answered. The post includes a suggestion about using the "search" feature. The answer to your specific question is probably already asked and answered, and that is a very good way to sift through the hundreds of useful posts here.

Philippe, I puzzled over this very same question originally. But then it occurred to me: once you close the doors it doesn't matter. Just think of each closed door as an extension of the wall it's in. So there's sound between the two walls. So what? Each wall-door assembly considered as one integrated whole blocks the sound from going further, and that's all you want, right? For the sake of making the transition (the narrow space where the edges of the two doors meet their respective walls) look nice, first stuff some insulation into the gap between the two walls, and cover the gap with black acoustic cloth. Consider adding a cloth-covered rigid fiberglass panel on the inside face of one or both doors (facing each other) to reduce the likelihood of resonances. Lee
