Hi all,
I'm trying to workout a 5.1 surround edit room.
I have a blue print ready but have to workout some details.
Somewhere in the pro logic manual of the SUE4 I found the following text :
Main speakers can be soffited
Surround speakers may not be aimed directly to the engineer.
How does this work with 5.1
and can I soffit the surround and Center speakers too ?
I hope my question make any sence :-)
Many thanx

Aaronw.
I did found it later on.
Thank you for writing down that link again.
This is the space I had to work with :
1200 x 1000 cm ( 12mtr x 10mtr )
The building used to be a photo studio.
Power was already there so I started from there.
I placed a machine room next to the power distribution.
Because it has to be a prived edit room next to a normal house I didn't include water / bathroom etc.
An office is included .
I do not know what to do at the rear of the control room.
The doors are there FLAT as they can be !!!
I think they can reflect sound from the front speakers and a lot of the center speaker.
How can I solf this problem ??
Because the room is not verry high 400cm ( 4mtr )
I have no Idea to handle this one :?
Anyway I have uploaded a sketch ( pdf )
so I'm asking for you comments / remarks
thanx
Chris

Here's you sketch Chris.
Why not forget entry through the rear - that bottom hallway is a waste of space - enter through the right hand slot resonator by adding double glass doors.
cheers
john
Like this
maybe even this so you retain the outside view and have easy access to the machine room.
cheers
john
Thanks a lot for your comments John,
I think the second option looks great.
But there are no longer slot resonators in that room
are they not nessesary in a 5.1 setting ?
I will try to make a 3d drawing of it and post the results here.
Cheers
Chris
