Hello,
does it make any sense to soffit these speakers? They are rear ported bass reflex system or? I want to use these speakers in my new studio I´m building right now and need some advise. My room is 10.1 feet width and 12.5 feet in length. I use these plan for construction the walls and angles.

I found this link about this topic but it only inludes information for passive hifi models: http://www.dynaudiousa.com/products/instal.htm
Maybe anyone here can help and has an info or a tip if Dynaudio Bm6a is soffit mountable? I have these speakers and love them. I´m building my studio right now and need to know if it is possible whith them. They are rear ported bass reflex system . I would hate to let them go cause I have worked whith them for quite a while and love their sound. It must be possible or? It would be really pissing me off if I have to change the speakers only of the soffit´s....

Michael - It's hard to tell if it will work on not - sometimes the rear radiator being locked away actualy helps because the soffit mount helps form the low end better than the rear radiator.
I suggest you try it and see (well listen really) what happens. ;)
cheers

Hello.
I'm thinking about soffiting my Dynaudio BM6a's also. How did it work out for you? Anybody else out there try this?
If I don't soffit them how far from the front wall should I place them generally speaking?
Cheers,
Collin
yeah, i'd love to hear if anyone has had luck here with soffit mounting bm6a's
how did it effect the low end with the port on the back?
and were their any heat issues?

It has been done before so I´m going to do it too.
I´ll start by dismantling the backplate to see how to extend it to have it on the soffit wall below the speakers.
Of course going to add a thread here once I get to it. Took the hard path of studying acoustics, figuring things out and now I´m designing two control rooms with help from some of the best at gearslutz. A bit of a challenge but I´ll get there.
You can check out my thread here:
