materials affecting sound

I’m doing a design and technology assignment where I need to research what materials affect the sound of a room when recording. Could you please tell me what kind of sounds different kind of materials produce eg stone would give a live sound.

Go here http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html and read up on acoustics and come back with any further questions. :) cheers john

Hey thanks a lot that really helped!
