ideal proportions

I work for a radio station and have been given the task of studio design. My first concern is the proper volume of the space. Is there a dimensional formula or other rule of thumb I can use as I lay out the length, width, and height of my studios? thanks. Jeff

Start with the EBU speciofications for monitoring and listening rooms. Tehn study and appreciate the 5.1 recommedations in AES NARAS and other documents. Sorry, they are on the web but I don't have the URLs handy. Also the BBC has a wealth of info on broadcast/studio acoustics in their research papers, again on line. One of deatils the development of the EBU spec for room ratios! Andre
