I'm having trouble figuring out a design that works for my basement-studio-to-be that would allow me to have a dedicated vocal booth. What do y'all think about using the mic-stand-mounted Max-walls or perhaps something similar (Realtraps has something that looks good also) to create a temporary "vocal booth" in a live room as a subsititute for a permanent one.
I anticipate doing a large amount of vocal work, sung and spoken, but I will also have a good deal of drum/electric guitar tracking as well.
Thanks for any opinions,
kc
Vocal booth vs. movable walls in live room

That's what I'm hoping to do as well. My thot was that as long as I have good ISOLATION in the room, moving ABSORBTION should be easy.
I actually have some MaxStands, but I'm not sure I have panels, although they'd be easy to rig up.

You must look at it acoustically -
if you were to build a vox booth say - 6' x 6' you would end up with a 6 x 6 vox room and 6' x 6' less in your exisiting room.
I suggest you treat your existing room correctly and that parameter will also apply to your vox room, provided that for the period of the performance you wear headphones......so what??
cheers
