I drew the following picture with paint. I would've done it with smartdraw but, I used up my trial a couple of years ago. I hope to build this house in the spring if all goes as planned. So, it's not an existing structure. Could you help me figure out how to layout the control room and drum room? I get out of scale when diagonals are used in paint. My concerns are plumbing and support for ground level floor. I'd love it if the basement had no pillars in it. I just don't know how it'll work out because I'm not an architect. I just know where I want everything and that's all. Can you help?

Hi, It's a nice big space your proposing. for simplicities sake I would frame a 2x4 no-connect wall about 6" off the cinderblock look at other posts on this subject. The 2x4 wall doesn't need any layers just lots of mineral wool to soak up the bounce off the block, although if you wanted to make this wall into resonators, change the 2x4 to 2x6, seal the back with MDF, chalk it and follow Mr Sayers plan for resonator panels easily found on this site. The cinderblock surrounded by dirt guarantees great STC... But the refections it will produce need to be cured. I posted a Pic from SAE web site corner cotrol room the dimensions seem very similar to yours. I would a modified version of use these. If you turn these plans around and apply them to either of the corners nearest your dance studio wall they would be easy to modify to work for your room. You would need several wall layers between the dance studio and the recording studio. I hope you get the pics For some reason They haven't been posting right about 50% of the time. God Bless, David
