Hello everybody! Question number 3 today is about installing near field monitors into the walls... We are planning our new studio in a basement and want to get rid of the typical problems related to putting monitors near the wall. So we`d like to install them into the wall. At the moment we plan to use a pair of Events 20/20bas... How to deal with the heat of the amp? Could that be a problem to concern? Perhaps letting some air float inside the wall (behind the monitors) could improve the situation. Ideas? Bye bye, Schroeder
What I have recommended is to build the soffit based on johns design and add a 120mm www.silenx.com fan to move air. I have had only 1 incident of heat build up with my Mackies in the wall.
Hello Bryan! Good idea. First we planned to integrate the space behind the speakers into the studio ventilation system, but some amount of sound could get through the ventilation system into the live room. Your approach of an enclosed space with a fan seems to be much better! :-) How much volume of floating air do you have behind the speakers? Round about? -------------- Schroeder
