SPEAKER PLACEMENT

Hi! I have Event 20/20 speakers that I am sittig on top of a home made argosy type console. Because of that I am approximately 4 feet away at the mix position. From what I have read the speakers should be placed in an equal triangle (in this case all 3 sides being 4 feet apart). Question, is this to close together width wise for good stereo separation? Also what would be optimal distance apart for such speakers? Another question , should the speakers be angled in towards each other or not? If so approximately what angle? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Jeff

they should be angled at 30 degrees and you sit at or within the triangle created by you and the speakers. If you sit exactly where the triangle meets and move left/right you move off axis so it's usual for you to sit a bit forward of that point but center to them. here's how I'd set them up on an Argosy - I've drawn the 70 series. cheers john
