Hello all Recently I re-evaluated a room in my house for a studio. 25FT long 8FT wide 16 FT high. It’s a “almost finished room It doesn’t have air/hear (yet) The only window in the room is about 16ft high and it’s a array of solid glass tubes that are 4 inches think It has a SOLID concrete floor The exterior wall to the interior wall is about 4inches are not insulated yet There is a one door that is a small closet There is one door that goes to the out side of the house(Can be sealed off) The studio room will be mainly vocals and live instruments .. drums will be recorded about 20% of the time I plan to implement one of the designs that are on the SAE website under “the garage studio with the studio room on the side with the door that will be sealed off and the small storage room and the control room on the opposite side. Questions: What adjustments should I make to the already tested designs from the SAE site? Or should I take a different approach? I know I have to finish the Ceiling… since I have the option of making the ceiling which ever height what would be a good based on the other dimensions? Possibly have one height for the control room and one for the studio room ? Also since the exterior to interior walls are not insulated should I use those existing walls to incorporate the design or insulate them with typical insulation and then build the room within the room. Or any other suggestions Since the floor is concrete and from looking at the side of the building it seams to be 3 foot thick (height) what would be good to lay down in each room. As far as heating and cooling … are there any recommendations on going with a minisplit ductless system verses typical packaged heat pump… I would have to buy a new systems either way it goes. As you can imagine this room I think has a lot of potential and I am patient to research and ask questions so I can complete this the proper way instead of jumping in. Any comments are truly appreciated … I plan to take photos of this room during the construction period and share with all I appreciate all of the information, guidance and constructive criticism that everyone on this site has. :D
