I have been looking through this forum and have received some great ideas. I need to build a control room. This will be a studio "B" room for writing etc. I plan on using the floating floor design from SAE. I need dimensions for the walls ceilings etc. The attachment is the layout of the room I am converting. The 3 thick walls are the outside walls and are cinder block. The 4th wall (with the door) is a standard frame/drywall set up like that used in houses. This wall also has a window looking into a small vocal booth (approx. 3"X 8"). I would like to build a room within this room. The maximum height I have is 10 feet. I was thinking of facing the room so the window is to my left as I face the monitors, but I am open to suggestions. I think the door placement is an issue correct? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nobody out there with any suggestions? I think I want want to use the layout on the SAE site but I need dimensions, degrees. etc. Any help?
what I would do is get the image of the studio design that tickles your fancy off of the SAE site. import it into something like smartdraw. then draw your outer walls to scale and start playing with the image you can resize it and draw walls over it etc. hope this helps cheers Brady
Thank you for your reply. It look slike Smartdraw only works for PC. I use Apple. Any suggestions for Apple?
you can always purchase Virtual PC and run smartdraw on a Mac that way. otherwise visio seems to be the mac favourite. cheers john
I have had bad experiences with virtual PC. Any other suggestions?
Sorry, I replied before I read the entire message. I will check out visio. Thank you
well Brady is sitting right next to me and is using smartdraw with virtual PC on his MAC laptop - works fine. cheers john
