I was wondering if a sealed box like this : (the inside is about 20inch wide, 20 inch height, 2.5 inch deep) would be efficient if I put some 4x1, 3x1, 2x1, slats, spaced out by 1/4 and 1/2 inches. I would but 2 4x1 on the bottom, 2 3x1, and 3 2x1 for the top slats.
This is pretty much the same design as the wall units, but instead of beeing a depth of about 8inch, it is a depth of 2.5 inches....

It's possible. Just don't expect it to cover the same frequencies the 8" deep ones did.
Well, according to the calculator (with the revised equation) , 2.5 inch deep can give me down to about 300-400hz absorbtion
Isn't that pretty good or am I using the formula in the wrong way...
