Hi,
I have a small studio wich i dream of expending some day, but until i have the money i would like to get things closer to having a real studio instead of having my bed next to the drums etc....
ok, anyway my question is wether it is a good idea to build a box to put my drums inside. Like a vocal booth but the size of my drums, with windows a door and sound treatment inside. I'm trying to cut down on the sound too so i hope this would isolate the drum sound from going into my parents ears with whom I still live with (I'm only 20).
Anyway, my room is 21'6"x12'6" with a closet that is full of stuff, so no vocal booth there!
and i have some weird walls, but i'm not looking to change the actual room as i don't have the money and i will probably leave my parents place someday.
I was thinking about building a room inside my room mainly for cutting down on sound volume and to give an impression of a control room and live "rooms".
is it a good idea or am I better of with the whole room "wide opened"?
is this a good idea?

I think that's a reasonable idea. I'd make it modular so you can take it apart and rebuild it when you move.
cheers
