My drummer and I are building a studio out of an addition room in his house. We've got it stripped down to the studs and we're ready top start building. Before we do though, I wanted to find out the general opinion on spray foam insulation for the walls. Is it more effective than standard insulation? Is there something better in the same pricing ballpark?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Spray Foam Insulation?

For heat, yes, For sound no. All of that stuff I've seen is closed cell. like styrofoam. You're still better off with rigid insulation and even the bats. Bats are cheap...and you get to itch & breathe the fibers too!
Motown's got you covered; if ya can't BLOW through it, don't use it for sound stuff either IN or OUT of a wall... Steve
