Need help

I want to build a addition on the back for a studio.I was wanting some more info.I basically goin to do R&B Hip Hop maybe some country I was needing to know how Big what to line the walls with should I do a slab(the house is on a slab)Im want to start at the beginin of the year and do a little at a time.I new at all of this and if anyone knew about equipment that I need for tracks that would be very much appecaited also.I have links with different recording labels and thought I might start a lil something of my own.
