Hi, I am currently building a new studio and the main speakers (Genelec 1034B) will be soffit mounted. I understand the ideal angle of the speakers is 30 degrees. If i do that though the sweet spot will be too far back in the room since the speakers are quite far apart. Is it possible to go up to a 45 degree angle?
officially it is 30 degrees but I've worked sucessfully at 45. cheers john
Thanks for the reply. Would it have to be either 30 or 45 degrees or could it be anywhere in between? And does the speaker angle have any consequences for the acoustics in the room? The room looks as follows: the side walls are splayed at 6 degrees and the ceiling at 12. There is diffusion at rear wall, bass traps in rear corners, in ceiling and hanging bass traps in some of the cavities between floating room and external construction. Mid and high absorption in side walls.
It can be anywhere in between and it shouldn't affect the rest of your room. cheers john
