I've been reading this forum for some time, but this is my first post. I've read the SAE site and I have a rough idea as to how I'd like to design my control room (the guest room in my home....)
As of now, I'm live room and control room have been one and the same. It's come to the point where it's hard to get a really good sound because I can't monitor what the heck is going on while a full band is banging away in the same room. So I have the opportunity to convert the guest room into a control. Only problem is it's small with less than ideal placement of windows. As you can see from the picture below I can't really place built-in bass traps in to of the corners -- one 'cause of a window and one 'cause of a door.
What would you suggest? Should I not even bother because the room is too small and awkward and it'll only make mixing worse?!
Here's the room (it's in feet; the height is 8'3"):
Another Small Control Room Thread!

You can always place your bass traps on the wall-to-ceiling joint in those areas where you cannot do the conventional vertical placement.
Darryl.....
thanks. can a control room this size be used to accurately monitor?
