Wow, there is a load of great information here. This is my first post and I'd like to just say this site is priceless. I wish to build a studio in my basement. I am posting pictures of my proposed plan to better describe my situation. The floor plan you are seeing is the space dedicated to studio space. The other half of the basement is not pictured, and is going to be the Home Theater, so we can't consider using that space :) Anyway, I am having troubles figuring out how to use this space. There are two concrete walls that are right in the center of the space(they are labeled on the pic). So the first picture is the space I have to work with, and the second is my Design. I would like to have 1 live room, CR room, and two ISO booths. Maybe this is too much to fit in this space? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Jason_442

I think you have resolved it pretty well Jason. Those booths are small but if you want three studios that's about all you will get with the given space. The only option I could suggest would be to make the entrance area bigger and use it as a small booth allowing for one larger booth on the right side. cheers john

Thanks John, THat's a pretty good idea. That would alow for a bigger Studio A to the far right. And, I guess you would only use the small vocal booth if all other's were being used ... since you have to go through it to get to the CR room. Thanks for the input! Jason_442
One little suggestion: you might address the concrete wall area at the front left of your control room. If you build a stud/drywall/whatever wall on each side of that concrete wall, you could end up with less isolation. Perhaps build just one of those walls, and use treatments to break the parallels. If the concrete wall isn't thick enough (but it probably is) you could add mass there.
