hello, a friend and i are planning on buying some land together, where we will build a studio. of course, this isnt going to happen any time soon, as i am 18 and currently working on getting reasonable gear at the moment. anyway, here is my design; and a rough sketch of the front wall of the control room the back wall of the controlroom is approximately 5m on the inside. the room on the right is going to be used for storage. in the view of the front wall, the big rectangles represent windows, i just forgot to colour the lines. thanks for any advice in advance
first off I'd allow for access to the studio without having to go through the control room to load gear in and out. any chance of some measurements? cheers john
john, thanks for the reply. i have revised my design as per your suggestion and added some measurments. the measurments are rounded down slightly but are close enough to give you an idea on the size. the new room on the bottom left is the gear/storage room. i'm not sure about the door location between the, well, i guess it could be called a "lobby," and the main recording room.
is there any more advice/suggestions on my design? i can add more dimentions, etc. if nessesary. i could probably even reconstruct the design in smartdraw.
I'd be heading for this style of layout. cheers john
