Hi all -
I have a guest bedroom, that I currently use as a home office. I'd like to turn it into a pre-production, edit, mix room. no live room, just a DAW based "control" room. I want to work in 5.1. It's basically 12' x 12' w/ 8' ceilings. It's not much to work with.
Here's the added twist... My wife agrees to let me turn it into a mix room with one caveat.... I have to build a queen size murphy bed into the mix. John... I bet that hasn't been a requirement before  My wife wants a place for guests to be able to sleep when they come over (two three weekends a year).
I have a closet in the room right now that doesn't have to remain a closet. Here's the Murphy Bed components. We'd go with the Queen size. So the bed width would be 63", pocket depth 16", pocket height 86", unfolded would extend 88" from back of pocket.
So... anyone have any ideas? John?

BTW... that was my first post... I love your forum. I've been reading a lot. I've actually taken classes from John Storyk for studio acoustics, but it's been a LONG time..

Tom - I would have though that a sofa/bed option would be more practicle as it would give you a control room couch as well :)
cheers

That's a possibility, but a murphy bed uses a real Queen matress, unlike a sofa bed. My wife's parents moan and grown every time they come over. So, we want a real bed matress.
