Hello guys im new to the forum and I need some help. I have a room above my garage and Id like to make it a studio, how possible is it. The room is 15 wide by 24 deep, ive attached a picture of it so you can see.
The studio would pretty much be for my own recordings and maybe a local band or two, you never know. I frammed the house so putting up some walls wouldnt be a problem, its what I do for a living. Any help would be great, im just stuck.
Thanks, Dustin (Greenmind)

I've got a very similar room shape to this. My room is bigger though, about 15' 5" x 41' 4" and my roof pitches out 5' 6" from the side walls.
Taking out the ceilling and letting the roof peak mightbe better for accustics, but don't quote me on that. I really don't know what I'm talking about. It might not be worth it for you. I just might not put a ceilling on because I haven't built one yet.
Do you know if just sheet rocking the sides of the pitch instead of putting in a ceilling would create a moister proplem in the house? My room is a 3rd floor.
you could easily put a studio in that space Dustin - care to give us a floor plan and where the door is etc. also what sort of noise control do you need to keep the neighbours happy?
cheers
john
Thanks for helping me John,I hate asking all these questions, I guess I should have listened more on studio design lecture at the recording workshop. Well i havent got it really laid out yet i need some ideas on that. As far as the door I took the photo at the opening of the door so you could see the entire room. Ill attach an over head drawing of the room so you can see a little bit better. As far as neighbors go i live in the middle of nowhere, my neighbor is about 3 miles away so no problem there.
Thanks, Dustin
