ok just a little about me before i go very far into this.
i am 17 years old and have been recording for about three years now
but in the last year or so i have really started doing things with my recordings. i have been able to write and play my music and find almost all of my stuff to be acoustic and not really loud stuff however when i do a lot of guitar mic work and stuff that i have need for dead silence i find i have to record in my room at three am so as to not have trucks going down the road and people in the house not moving around :) well i have made some good recordings this way now and my mom and dad like them a lot but they do not like the fact that i am staying up so late to do this thing called "recording" and so i was given some space in our poll barn.
i can build a studio here in the barn but i have to research it and learn from it as well as work out prices and design and last but not least i have to earn the money :? any way the space i have to work with is 10'x16' with an 8' ceiling
now i am wondering how to work this so that i have a good live room and a vocal booth i will have guitars and other gear in the room too. i am recording myself and so this makes it hard to record in a booth then go to the CR and hit go and stop and such i would have to record in the CR i guess. my computer is almost silent nothing wrong there. any way i am not much for drawing things out can someone help me out? like i say i am going to have to learn from this and earn for this thanks guys.
no more late nights

I'm a newbie too, so I'm not going to be much help, but I suggest you check out the recording manual on the on the home page. It's a perfect way to get started. It's already helpd me quite a bit in the planning stages of my studio.
Good Luck,
Ben
