Hey everyone. I'm wondering what my best approach is for building a one room project studio in my basement. Basically I have a large room that I'm going to close off because my wife has a small business in another room and people walk by my equipment during the day. I only need to build 2 walls so I will have a room of approx 18' x 11'. I've been looking at the John's DIY wall units and I've also been looking at some designs like what Giles117 has used. Am I better off building the room and then using the DIY design, or am I better off framing for the corner's while the main wall frames are built ? Also I've seen a few rooms that instead of using the side wall slot resonators on the DIY page have angled walls. Is this a better option than the slot resonators ? I hope this makes sense. Hope to hear from you soon. Dave
any chance of a drawing showing how it interacts with the rest of the basement - If you can start with angled walls it helps. BTW could you update your profile so we know where you are? cheers john
Sorry John - I've updated my profile. As you can see I'm just around the corner from Blue Bear ( a beautiful studio and I've had the pleasure of seeing in person :D ) I'll see what I can muster up in terms of a drawing in a little bit. I'm at work getting ready to leave for the day so I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I guess the main thing I was wondering was if I was better off just building the 2 walls and then adding the DIY's after but that's probably hard to say without a drawing. I'll be back soon. Thanks ! Dave
