Ok, this is my basement, the black walls are concrete, the red are paneling and the dark black is my heater and a/c on about a 6 inch platform. Now the big problem with the paneling, is that at one point the basement flooded, so the paneling is all screwed up, but the studs are semi ok. what i want this for is a mixing tracking mastering studio, no lounges, just useful rooms, id like to have atleast one iso booth, maybe 2, a drum room, a control room, and a practice area, probably room 1. in the drum room and the iso booth im going to build a "room inside a room" but dont know what room to put these in. With the room inside the room, im using mainly for sound proofing, (right?) if so, my basement is almost compelety underground, except for about a foot, all solid concrete, so could i use this wall as part of my soundproofing? The main problem, of course are the windows, and obviously sound leaking up stairs. That is not so much of a problem, i live with musicians, so they dont mind, but some sound escapes to the streets, and consequesntly the neighbors throught the windows up stairs. So what im asking is, how the hell do i get this to work?!! thanks guys so much for this great site, and i tried to be as specific as possible, oh yes, ceilings are 7 ft". thanks. and about the drawing, i did it in paint, ...sorry no photoshop.
