Hi all, I probably have nowhere near the level of expertise that many of you have here... nor do I have the amount of room or resources as most of you as well. Basically, I am renting a basement from a friend, but I would still like to record down here with good quality. I don't have a separate room to record in so my bedroom is also my "studio". Below is a diagram of how my room is setup right now... it's not really up to scale but you'll get the idea... I really don't wanna move this big ass queen size bed and headboard... so basically, that open space where I am planning to put a couch, I'm thinkin of puttin a mic next to it with sound proofing on the wall. I don't have a closet down here (door leads into the storage/laundry/heat room so nothing can be done there. Bathroom is up the stairs to the 1st floor (my room is the basement) so can't do anything there... I also just realized that the desk isn't that long at all, there is about 2 feet of space before it touches the wall that is occupied by crates of records. You think I can get good recording done in an untreated room of this size?? What can I do, I'd even consider doing some LIGHT building since this isn't my house... any help from anyone is GREATLY appreciated. Thanks y'all... -LCD

anyone??
you'll probably get a better answer if your plan was to scale. Much easier to understand what your dealing with.
Even with this, we can give some ideas... Any windows in this bedroom? General guidelines- try to set your desk and speakers up along the center-line of the room (in your case, perhaps toward the "bottom" wall and reverse the position of the dresser and bed, but I can't tell without dimensions on the stuff). The idea is to make the wall reflections the same on each side of your head. You're in a small room and your bed is taking up a lot of it. It can be done, but it'll take a lot of getting-used-to-your-speakers and double-checking your work on other sound systems.
LOL... this picture is definitely not to scale... There are 2 tiny windows in the room, nothing u can open or anything like that.

Ok... where are they?
one is about the dresser, the other is at the foot of the bed.
