So here is the layout of my studio. I recently bought some studio foam 24"x48"x3". I'm definitely putting a couple sheets in the Iso booth to start off. But I'm going to have some left over and wanted to put it in the control room to kill some of the live-ness/echo... Any ideas on what I can do as far as placement or shall I just experiment? I was thinking to start off by putting some on the wall where the couch is against.... BTW. The ceilings are 8'. Thanks!

riff, Being fairly new to this forum myself, and by no means an expert on acoustical treatments, one thing I did notice after spending some time reading and searching the web for pictures of existing pro studios is the absence of "foam" and wondered why that might be the case. (I was a phone call away from ordering one of those "full room treatment" type kits offered by several companies when I made that observation.) In over 150 examples of control/live rooms that I've collected, I began to see more variations of what is described at this link more than anything else: http://www.johnlsayers.com/HR/index1.htm Another great link is: http://www.saecollege.de/reference_material/index.html (Be sure to click on all the tabs at the top of the page and side margins) In any case, since making these discoveries I have been rethinking my approach to the type of sound treatment I'll be using. Just some food for thought. Hope it helps stimulate some ideas for your room. :)
thanks for the tip. The John S. link is a good one.. Not sure if my craftsmen skills are up that hight but I suppose it might be worth a shot!
