hello, i'm moving to a new appartment and will have my project-studio in that place.i have to decide which of these 2 rooms will be better or easier acousticly to work with. i'm monitoring through nearfiel pmc lb1. wil do vocal overdubs and a lot mixing in there as well as recording acoustic instruments such as bass and percussion etc. one room size is: 4.04mX4.62m other room size is: 5.60mX3:64m i can only use one for my studio the other one will be living room. please feel free to give me your acoustic advise. ceilings are 3m. will use parete absorber and will get something for the corners as well. thanx in advance cheers
anyone? thanx
I'd use the 5.6 x 3.6 room

thats what i thought. my second question would be: there is a window on one side of the 3.64m side which means i cannot isolate there too much. would you recommend to put the speakers with the back to window or wall? what is more important to isolate? the wall behind speaker or the wall behind me? thanx
I'd place the speakers against the windowed wall. Stopping that sound from bouncing off the wall behind you is more critical (when you find yourself having to make compromises. :)
what else would you suggest to do in this room? absorber or diffusor and where tu put them?basstraps? thank you
Look at Johns Wall Units Page from his main site. ;) Follow what you see.
